ATTRACTIONS
You may be coming here to get rid of all of the worries of the hustle and bustle of every-day life. Maybe for a weekend... maybe for an entire month... for whatever reason you will find lots of things to do to get you relaxed and unwound.

Spring time brings the rain... that means the creeks fill up with run-off from the winter snowpack. And THAT means whitewater rafting and canoeing. Trout season starts in the middle of April... and we have miles of stocked trout streams.

Summer is great for any outdoor recreation. Horseback riding, covered wagon rides, fishing, hiking and biking in the PA Grand Canyon and tons more.

Fall is one of the best seasons for sight-seeing... especially northern PA's fall foliage. It's a MUST-SEE!

Winter time is perfect for hitting the local skiing and we have hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails.

Try shopping in downtown Williamsport or at the Lycoming Mall. Fine dining can be found at Franco's and our local microbrewery, the Bullfrog Brewery, offers home brews and excellent food. Stop in at the Lycoming County Historical Museum, the Little League Baseball World Series (August) and Museum (year-round). Or try visiting "Millionaires Row" - the Victorian houses of Williamsport, formerly the "Lumber Capital of the World".

The Pennsylvania Grand Canyon is a 50 mile long, 1,000 foot deep gorge cut through solid rock by the melting glaciers which formed Pine Creek. Several lookout points along both rims furnish breathtaking views of deep valleys and rock tumbling streams. The Canyon is home to the state's longest "Rails to Trails" trail - excellent for hiking, biking and bird watching.

Eagles Mere, elevation 2,100 feet, in the "Endless Mountains" of Northeastern Pennsylvania, was developed in the 1800's as a resort for wealthy Philadelphians. They came to the mountain for the cool clean air and crystal clear waters of the mile long lake. They built turn of the century Victorian "cottages". The cottagers loved the unspoiled beauty and serenity of this peaceful oasis so much that they placed much of the land into the protective stewardship of a Lake Association and Nature Conservancy. The town has a few old fashioned shops, and a number of antique shops are near by. Eagles Mere remains much the same as it did years ago when the pace of life was more peaceful and less stressful. Eagles Mere - "the last unspoiled resort", now waits for you!

At the French Azilum Historic Site step through a doorway into the past by visiting this historic site containing over 20 acres of an original French settlement built by refugees from the French Revolution. Guided tours of the LaPorte House, our restored house museum, are available and group reservations can be made to look at this piece of history.

And, in the summer and fall try out this nearby Labyrinth in Laporte, PA.

For hundreds of more ideas of what to do in the local area visit the Endless Mountains of PA and the Valleys of the Susquehanna.
